Touring Grand Central with Beth Goffe was fun! I thought I knew a lot about my favorite NYC landmark -- and although it was fun to have some of the things I knew confirmed I was grateful to have some other things I thought I knew debunked. And then it was great fun to learn many many new things. Beth has a great balance between the macro and micro of history and she is well prepared with historic photos and is willing to adapt her tour to her audience's particular interests. Loved everything that was "behind-the-scenes" including the train-turn-around-tract, the gorgeous mechanisms that open the windows, the acorn details and the tennis court.

Beth did a great job showing us some hidden spots and sharing unknown information in the northern part of Central Park. She was able to answer our questions. Being a birder, she identified birds, but also knew a lot of the geography and changes in that part of the park. We were the only ones to sign up and we had a fine personal tour with her.

Based on her long history living on the Upper West Side, Beth was very knowledgeable and eager to share information about the area beyond the scope of the tour. Beth is fun and engaging, and clearly loves her subject. We enjoyed learning about the scandals and traversing the upper west side, an area of NYC we had not explored. We anticipate being in touch with Beth in the future for more tours!

I asked Beth to lead a tour of Central Park for a group of 15 Master’s students from Europe. She showed up promptly and immediately established a rapport with the students. The two-hour tour included most of the highlights of the southern portion of the park and Beth introduced many of the landmarks, highlighting the historical, architectural and social aspects of their construction and placement. In our post-tour discussion, the students were very happy, calling it an “essential event” and saying Beth was “great” and “really informative,” appreciating her “down-to-earth approach” and the fact that she “listened to all our questions and answered them.” One even raved that “I feel we could have spent twice as long learning about the park!”

I recently went on a tour of Grand Central Station with Beth. It was fascinating! Beth is a very knowledge guide, sharing interesting history, story’s and facts. She also pointed out many hidden gems that I wasn’t aware of. We had a fun time and I look forward to booking more tours with her when I return to New York. I would highly recommend the Grand Central tour with Select Tours NYC.

Being an extremely hot day, my daughter & I certainly didn't really notice the heat as we were so intrigued of these wonderful stores Beth was relaying.
Beth took us on a journey of the upper WS; weaving stores of very prominent
men & their families. We found these stores so fascinating of the early 1900's, leaving us to wonder why the buzz about them; didn't spark a book or movie! Towards the end of our tour was topped off hearing about "Homes" on West End Avenue & the very famous Madam Polly! Beth was very engaging & never minded our many questions.

Beth led/accompanied us on a relaxed, informative and bird-filled backpaths birding tour of Central Park.
On a February day, she helped us see past the usual sparrows, starlings and geese to truly astonishing finds: red-bellied woodpecker, fox sparrow, barred owl, and goldfinch, as well as providing useful park history. Especially during COVID, it felt like a much-needed trip to the countryside - and social socially-distanced event!

My friend and I attended the Hidden Gems of Central Park's North End tour. Beth was very knowledgeable and engaging. We learned a lot and had fun at the same time. It's evident Beth is passionate about NYC. She even through in a bit of birding info. I highly recommend Select Tours NYC. I'll definitely be doing another tour (or 2!).
